use something like shown below:

Create a column -

var oColumn = new sap.ui.table.Column({

label: new sap.ui.commons.Label({text: "Material No."}),

template: new sap.ui.commons.TextView().bindProperty("text", "MatNo"),

width: "200px"

});

Add this column to your table:

oTable.addColumn(oColumn);
