Another option, if the scale has an ethernet connection and you just want to stream the weight unsolicited, is to use PCo Socket Agent to capture weight data stream, then use a PCo notification to pass the data to an MII transaction that can parse the text and extract the pertinent data. If the scale does not have an Ethernet connection, you can use a Serial-to-Ethernet server that can take Serial connection and expose it as a a TCP socket over Ethernet, which PCo can then connect with the Socket Agent.
First thing to do is to see what options are configured on the device for connectivity and industrial protocol, if any.
