Axel Arnold is correct. I had the same problem. When you receive the Java message: Block potentially unsafe components from being run? (recommended) Click NO. If you click yes then you will be prompted with authentication prompt which no matter what you enter UME or LDAP security will provide you with a connection refused: connect and will not let you in the workbench.
